What you can attach, how it is compressed, and why a video may take a moment to appear.

- Pictures: JPEG, PNG, HEIC and GIF, up to four per post.
- Videos: MP4 and MOV up to 5 minutes; vertical videos also appear in Clips.
- Everything is compressed on your phone first, so an upload uses far less data than the original file.
Videos play muted in the feed and only while they are on screen. Tap the speaker to hear sound; tap the video to open it full-screen.
While a video is being processed you see its first frame with a soft shimmer. Playback starts when processing finishes, usually within seconds.
